During the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 news and magazines apps on the Android platform in Latvia showed varied trends in downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

LV Ziņas (laikraksts) experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads. Starting from mid-February, the app saw its downloads rise from 216 to a peak of 695 in mid-March, before dropping sharply to 27 in the last week of the quarter. This app did not generate any revenue during this period.

Opera News: breaking & local maintained a stable download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads hovering around the 100 mark. There was a slight dip to 60 downloads in the last week of February, followed by a minor recovery to 104 in mid-March, and concluding the quarter with 80 downloads. The app did not record any revenue during this time.

Way2News Daily News App showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads. Starting from 32 downloads in early February, the app saw an upward trend, reaching a high of 169 downloads in mid-March. The quarter ended with weekly downloads at 136. Similar to other apps, it did not generate any revenue in Q1 2023.

The app started with 47 downloads at the end of December, saw slight fluctuations, and reached a peak of 73 downloads in mid-March. The quarter concluded with 57 downloads. No revenue was generated by this app during the period.
